It still sounds like VGM music but it's constructed like a straight up rock/jazz/etc. song. It really solidifies the overall sound, and is an especially touch in older VGM which tends to focus on strong melodies. Gradius III Arcade and Shinobi III's OSTs are huge favourites of mine partly for this, the bass and drum involvment in SIII is crazy at times ("Inner Darkside" practically has a drum solo!). __________________________________________________ | |
