I would REALLY hope that if Ron Paul were elected that he terminate the corrupt Food & Drug Administration, which is a major reason why obesity and low life expectancy in the U.S. is a problem and isn't in any other country!! The sicker we are, the more money big pharm makes. It's a trillion dollar industry.

The flaw in your logic is that every one you've listed here (except to die as an infant, which is CERTAINLY not a problem in the U.S.) is a choice. We can CHOOSE to live longer. We can CHOOSE to have health coverage. We can CHOOSE to go to a good school. And that's the great thing about America, is that we have the opportunity to live HOWEVER we want to live, and be as successful as we want to be. Most Americans unfortunately take that for granted.

one, the rich is fabricated. the dollar is not backed by anything but debt. two, the opportunities are dwindling. three, being rich and opportunist does not make you GREAT. US WAS great because its constitution stood for liberty, freedom and equality. Have you checked all the amendments lately?

It is also because all the "public" broadcasting company are not "public" owned. They are in it for the money just like everyone else. To change the system, you have to follow the money and change the money.

The Roman republic was probably the GREATEST at its time. It had the GREATEST military the world had ever seen at its prime. To think this republic will stand as the GREATEST ever forever is simply ignorant.

The "opportunity" to die younger? The "opportunity" to die as an infant? The "opportunity" to have no health coverage? The "opportunity" to have a shitty High School System? Oh, yes, you must mean THOSE opportunities!

It IS a Private system, not a free market one. You have to buy several politicians to get into the private club. Market competition drove lower prices in the past, now government 'regulation' eliminates competition - prices rise. Now the industry wants to be rewarded with a full blown government monopoly - where everyone is forced to pay, even if they don't use the services, and nobody can legally offer an alternative.

Well what makes US the greatest country in the world is one it's the richest and two the opportunity for Americans is far greater than most countries. Yeah we are lagging in a lot of areas where we shouldn't be and I blame the politicians and such, but it's the opportunity that makes this country great

I take your point, and it is a valid one. I thought you were so conservative just making a cheapshot, and that was the reason for my message. Americans are indeed part of the problem in their health care with their lifestyle choices. Still I hate to see the forces corporate corruption be given any slack in how cynically they have shortened and diminished the health of millions of Americans
