Title Says It All. But fuck. Ignition and idle of my 1989 Ford Tempo LX All Wheel Drive Sedan. That beast under the hood (and I use 'beast' loosely) is a 100HPP 2.3 Liter Ford HSO Inline Four Cylinder engine that is rated at 130lb-ft of torque. |

dmx011 2007-08-13 01:52:53 I saw only one AWD Topaz LS, looked to be a 91, in a storage container that wasn't opened for about 10 years. Neat. __________________________________________________
Explorer4x4 2007-03-28 01:04:57 Very rare. First introduced in 1987, All Wheel Drive was applied to both the Tempo (under the trim level name 'AWD') and Topaz (under GS and LS). All Wheel Drive was discontinued in 1991. It was rare, very rare, but up in the North in Alaska, it is very nice to have. As for it using the Ranger's 4WD system, I am not sure. But it is likely, as they also shared engines. __________________________________________________
filofarnsworth1 2007-03-27 22:36:27 You know, I don't think I ever saw a 4x4 Tempo - How many were made, and it looks from the plate like it saw service in Alaska. Must use the mechanics of the Ranger for the 4 wheel drive?? __________________________________________________ |
