******READ THE DISCRITION****** - First go to "computer" - Then go to "OS:(c)" - After you click on "OS:(c)" click on "program files" - Then scroll down untill you see "RigsofRods 0.34". - Click on that, then go to "data" not "packs!" - Then scroll down in the "Data" section untill you see the "Trucks" folder. - Then you will se a whole bunch on files like UPS.truck and UPS.texture and bla bla bla - Say you want to mod the car "dumptruck". You must only go to "dumptruck.truck", not "dumptruck.texture". - Once you are in the mod, you can chage the min rpm, max rpm, and tourqe, and that is about all you want to touch. - Now, you can chage the numbers they have there. Do so, but as I said, only the min rpm, max rpm, and tourque. - Make the numbers practicle, nothing like 937459023746973467349673967, something like for min rpm: 50.0000 and for max: 70000. - If you make too big of a min or max RPM, the rpm meter will just go all the way up, and the car will not move. - Dont mess with the "rear gear, first gear, second gear" ETC... - After you put in your ***PRACTICLE*** numbers in, save the file. Dont click the "save as", just click the "Save" button, because we dont want the game to get comfused with new file names. - then play your game, and if modded right, your car will move faster or slower, as you will want! ____________________________________________ Problems you may get... ____________________________________________ -Q. The car is not moving, and all that is happening is the RPM's going all the way up. -A. You have made the RPM's too high, and you need to turn them down a little -Q. All my car is doing is shooting forward or backwards uncontrollably -A. You have messed with the rear gear, first gear, second gear... ETC, and I warned you not to mess with those. SEE YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO ME!!!! -Q. When I try to open the folder, windows pops up a menu saying, please select a device to open this with -A. Simple as pie, just select use items from desktop, or something like that, and then select "notepad" but if your coputer doesnt have that (which it should) use any word processer you have to open it with. -Q. I made a mistake with the scripts and I cant fix it, because I dont remember the stock numbers -A. On almost all word processors in some spot, you can click undo, and that will make everything back to normal, or if that doesnt work, re-install the game, and next time, wite dont the codes before you go messing with the game, or make a backup file of the original files, so if you make a mistake, you can just delete the modded files, and replace them with the orgininal files. ____________________________________________ If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a comment, and most of your questions will be posted on this FAQ, or you can freely e-mail me @ masterwolf@optonline.net. Dont be scared, because most likely I can help you. ____________________________________________ Thanx to rigs of rods for making the greatest free game ever. ____________________________________________ ****PLEASE DO NOT HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE FOR COMPUTER PROBLEMS**** |
