DAVWAVE ::: Favorites Framptom leaving did not seem to hurt Frampton's career either. He managed to struggle on didn't he. 07-07-17 17:03:49 _____________________________________________________
aarfeld ::: Favorites Ah, another one of their great tunes; thanks of posting it. 07-07-18 22:44:47 _____________________________________________________
NowPleaseReadThis ::: Favorites This album of songs represents that rare, short lived, flash-in-the-pan confluence of the strength of youth coupled with true and real raw talent and ambition and a hard livin' and high flying lifestyle. It couldn't last long and didn't (their best album?), but we've got it on record so we can play it again and again. Buy the 'Smokin' Lp on cd. 07-07-19 18:24:22 _____________________________________________________

lazur1 ::: Favorites It's Steve and Pete's band every minute they're both there. "Rockin' the Fillmore": Frampton's leads are at least as dominant and memorable as Marriott's singing, possibly more so. Still the best. Frampton left because he believed he could do better with an approach that didn't fit the Pie's vibe. He was right. 07-07-25 01:16:48 _____________________________________________________
lazur1 ::: Favorites Steve's incredible vocal vibrato tranferred right over to his harp. He was indeed, the white Howlin' Wolf in that regard. 07-07-25 01:19:57 _____________________________________________________
gorblimey61 ::: Favorites My previous comment wasn't intended to discredit Peter Frampton. After all he was a virtuoso guitarist at a very young age. "Rockin' the Fillmore" proves that in spades! Compared to the pentatonic twiddling of most other rock guitarists, Frampton had a very melodic and fluid style on lead guitar. I do believe though, that Pete was a little overwhelmed by Marriott's stage presence. 07-07-25 07:57:31 _____________________________________________________ |
