CarolX2 ::: Favorites If rights were based upon that infants, the mentally challenged and people that break the law are open for slaughter. You also keep mentioning that animals are beneath us because they're simply animals. Why? Surely there must be some relevant characteristic that warrants rights when you state your position as if it's common knowledge. What makes rights distinctly human? Even better, what are rights and what are they based on? 07-07-02 07:15:30 _____________________________________________________
CarolX2 ::: Favorites I hate to break it to you, but the potential of a baby to become an intelligent adult doesn't warrant rights. For example, one day Becky will have the right to vote. Just because she has the potential to vote in the future does not give her the right to vote. Potentiality does not equal actuality. I think this example fits even better: fyourspace has the potential to give a good argument, but such does not mean s/he HAS a good/valid argument. 07-07-02 07:21:46 _____________________________________________________
CarolX2 ::: Favorites Even if we were to base rights on intelligence many animals would have rights and many people wouldn't. The term "intelligence" is a broad description of numerous cognitive faculties such as memory, concrete problem solving, etc. 07-07-02 07:27:49 _____________________________________________________
fyourspace ::: Favorites As far as me not caring about people, well, obviously I'm a firm believer that animal testing saves human lives and is not only necessary, but also a vital part of medical science. So, you're wrong again (just like you always are). 07-07-02 14:39:25 _____________________________________________________
jerrysproehlich ::: Favorites Excellent video, keep them coming ^_^ 07-07-03 13:04:04 _____________________________________________________
conn6m ::: Favorites Animal Testing may save Human lives. If we follow your logic however we could use the mentally handicapped which would be more accurate. Everything we do does effect the enviroment but your statement above implies we shouldn't try to do anything about it. I certainly don't agree with that. 07-07-07 08:03:50 _____________________________________________________
fyourspace ::: Favorites YOUR logic suggests that because YOUR logic puts animals and humans at the same level, mine doesn't. You must be confused. I'm not saying let's not do anything, I'm saying don't just do whatever a group like greenpeace or PETA (who isn't even an environmental group so why listen to them?)tells you to do without asking questions about their "facts" 07-07-09 15:54:23 _____________________________________________________
fyourspace ::: Favorites Animal testing "may" save human lives. You say that like it's not a big deal. 07-07-09 15:57:41 _____________________________________________________
conn6m ::: Favorites If you read up on testing you will find out that some drugs tested on Animals have actually harmed Humans. Thalidomide for instance. Why do we need more and more new cosmetics which are all tested on Animals. Companies developing new expensive medicine that are no better than the ones they replace. These companies are driven by profit not ethics. There are so many questions which should be addressed about testing that effect us as humans. 07-07-12 10:33:28 _____________________________________________________
conn6m ::: Favorites Ive blocked you because you have failed to answer the question posed about children/Handicapped. You call Animal Rights Bullshit but your best argument is that they are beneath us. After over 2000 years of western philosophy, we are the master species is the best you can come up with. Amazing. If you want to continue this line, do it on your own site. 07-07-12 10:46:37 _____________________________________________________ |
